Choosing and Using

Q1: Why might stage-lighting work require a UL94 V-0 grade instead of a standard V-2 tie?

A1: Use the flame-retardant grade required by the venue or project specification. Standard ties should not be placed close to hot fixtures or in locations covered by a stricter fire-safety requirement.

Q2: Will the cable ties in the high-temperature area at the rear of a high-power moving head light soften and fail?

A2: Use the heat-resistant, flame-retardant grade specified for the fixture and keep it within the published service-temperature range. Surface temperature can vary with lamp type, ventilation and placement, so measure the fastening point and leave clearance from unusually hot housings.
