Key Features

The nylon body contains no metal locking tab. The supplied specification lists a dielectric strength of at least 20 kV/mm and use on harnesses up to 600 V. If the assembly is washed, orient the lock so water and debris do not remain trapped against connectors or sensitive surfaces.

Choosing and Using

Q1: How do you select between insulated cable ties and heat-shrink tubing for insulation applications?

A1: Use heat-shrink tubing for overall abrasion protection of wire harnesses; use insulating cable ties for grouping/bundling harnesses, isolating high- and low-voltage lines, and providing long-term mechanical fixation (the two methods can be combined).

Q2: Do standard nylon cable ties count as insulating cable ties? How do they differ from specialized insulating cable ties?

A2: Standard PA66 already provides basic electrical insulation, but a specialized grade may add tighter control of dielectric properties and impurities. Selection should follow the voltage, environment and equipment standard; a cable tie is a mechanical restraint and does not replace primary wire insulation.
